BLINK Festival 2024

DEUS:   088/26812—81REX-13: 978-0882681/283DAAP Gallery, which took place during Cincinnati’s bi-yearly BLINK art festival, was focused around the use of projections and new technology within art and design. This installation, hung in the storefront windows, attracted pedestrian attention with unique motion effects inspired by the gallery’s nightly programming.

Built with a 4-week timeframe from kickoff to installation, the applied solution was a simple arrangement of aluminum channels, LED strips, and 3D printed mounting components, driven by previously-built Control Case.

Proposal
Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Google Street View.

A minimal, repeating bar structure would allow for a wide range
of motion effects across the storefront’s windows.

Components & Assembly
A combination of readymade and custom components.

Fabrication
Chanels cut to length, mounts printed, pieces assembled and soldered.

Installation
Pre-assembled components installed on the day preceding opening.

`

Showtime
Motion sequences recorded during and after BLINK.
